Genea Biocells’ senior scientist, Anabel de la Garza, presented our ongoing work to improve our myogenic differentiation platform at yesterday’s SD Skeletal Muscle Seminar Series hosted at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. The talk highlighted improvements in our media that induce more efficient and reproducible formation of mutlinucleated myotubes from human pluripotent stem cells. Additionally, these resulting myotubes exhibit features that more closely resemble differentiated human primary cultures. In conclusion, this body of work demonstrates a robust, scalable hPSC derived skeletal muscle differentiation model as a useful tool for research and drug discovery.
